Otter Slough Conservation Area and the immediate vicinity (including MoDucks) has long been known for holding nearly 100,000 ducks and 300,000 snow geese. Otter Slough however, experienced its best year ever in 2003. This nearly 5000 acre waterfowl paradise set a record for killing more ducks than they have ever killed in 30 years of record keeping. They also set a record for killing more ducks than any other Conservation Area in the entire state at nearly 13,000 ducks for a 2.7 bird per hunter average throughout the 60 day duck season. MoDucks customers experienced a 3.2 bird per hunter average for that same 60 day season!
